Shannon Hilscher
She/her
Autistic
Shannon Hilscher is an instructional designer, author, and self-proclaimed introvert who spent much of her life questioning why she felt out of place in a world perhaps not designed for her.
Shannon’s journey of self-discovery led to an Autism diagnosis later in life, a revelation that has profoundly changed her perspective and fueled her passion for advocacy and storytelling.
As an author, Shannon published her first book, The Unexpected Adventure That Changed My World, through Confetti Dream Publishing, LLC. This allegorical tale explores themes of diversity, equity, and inclusion through the concept of segregated colour worlds. The protagonist’s journey, inspired by discovering new colours and dreams, mirrors Shannon’s own path to understanding and embracing her true self.
Her book, Living Authentically Through Colour, shares her journey and ideas for embracing life authentically using a colour-infused version of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs as the framework.
Shannon’s vision is to create a world where individuals, particularly women+, don’t feel the need to mask to fit in, but instead, embrace their unique identities. Through her work, she encourages others to join a tribe of confetti dreamers—those who choose to live authentically and vibrantly.
